Meet & Melt is a all along famous dessert cafe among teenagers. I've been craving to try out their lava toast ever since I heard about it, but sadly, their outlet was only at Tampines at that time. Therefore, you can imagine how overjoyed I was when Meet & Melt finally open their second outlet at SCAPE (Orchard)!
When we arrived, I was surprise to see the quiet and empty seats at such a spacious area. (As in, I was expecting the need to queue for 20 minutes or something.) But nope, we got to order our food instantly.
As Meet & Melt never stop innovating new desserts, I decided to try out their new menu -- melted toast with Raclette cheese ($18.90) topped with a green tea ice cream (+$1). They have no GST or service charge which I truly appreciate it. 人就是犯贱 明知道爆贵 就是要吃!
After waited for 20minutes, our dessert finally arrived! A staff brought the cheese along and told me to have my camera on stand-by. He then scrapped the cheese across the diameter in split seconds (which is why my photo is blurred, not focus yet) and that's it! We started to dig in. Throughout my meal, I kept thinking how they deal with the leftover cheese since they must scrap from the diameter of a round cheese every single time.
Just like all the recommendation photos pinned on the wall by I-don't-know-how-many Instagrammers, their dish is truly Insta-worthy!
Taste wise, it was slightly above average. The toast was quite good - soft bread with melted butter wrapped by crispy outer layer, living up to its brand name, as I actually felt the bread like kinda melting in my mouth! But for the cheese, I am sorry to say that it is just normal. Overall I was quite disappointed. $20 is too much for the amount and quality I was expecting.
However, I might visit again to try their cheaper signature Lava toasts that are often sold out :) With the quiet ambiance, I do think Meet & Melt is a great dessert place to chill out with your date once in a while.

Lesser raclette cheese scrapped down on the toast than I expected |

The whole process was too fast to follow. Raclette cheese hardened in a second. |

Meet and Melt desserts are truly instaworthy |

I have no idea how to eat the thin and harden chocolate decoration on the plating. What a waste! |

Omg I'll try out this restaurant the next time I'm in SG! Btw, I like ur logo😍
ReplyDeleteThanks for the compliment! Designed in Photoshop! It's a nice place to chill in Singapore~ Somemore it's located at a fashion mall selling cheap outfits :D
DeleteEh, this is the one that goes viral last time. So glad that we even have this one near Malaysia (rather than have to fly to Turkey to try some).
ReplyDeleteOh, I didn't know the origin is from Turkey! Thanks for letting me know :D Do try if you visit Singapore!
DeleteI totally agree with you for this: 人就是犯贱 明知道爆贵 就是要吃!
ReplyDeleteI make the same mistakes too lol!
haha exactly! Sometimes i wonder if I don't have food cravings, do I even bother to eat lol! Poor wallets :(
DeleteAlthough it is obviously expensive, why do I still feel the urge of trying the raclette cheese toast? Maybe I'll still drop by the cafe to try their other toasts.
ReplyDeleteYeap! I think other toast should be prices more reasonably (as compared to other cafe in sg). I missed malaysia cafes thou! Same price but different currency sign :(
DeleteThe presentation of the melted toast with Raclette cheese is really impressive. I am sorry to hear that you felt disappointed with it. Taste aside, I do feel that it is pretty pricey.
ReplyDeleteYeah.. I was disappointed with the price too :( But I would still try their other toast next time :) This cafe has good food quality control :D
DeleteThe toast look good! Great representation.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Hope you drolled seeing the photos! :P
Deleteoh gosh I am wanting to try this out too.. will check it out the next time I am in Sg
ReplyDeleteGo go! Try their java toast! Cheaper and often sold out, so ought to be nicer XD
DeleteWow, seriously this raclette cheese look so yummy! Always saw them in fb but I still waiting them to come to Malaysia :P
ReplyDeleteHAHAHA! If they open in Malaysia I will definitely pay a visit :D (provided that their price don't change, except to change currency sign). I MISS MALAYSIA FOOD!
DeleteWow! This raclette cheese looks yummy. I would like to try it out soon.
ReplyDeleteDo try! It's not bad but just pricey that's all :)
DeleteOh gosh!! Great post!! I swear I could smell the cheese as I was reading and your photos are amazing
ReplyDeleteHAHAHHA! If only electronice devices can invent until smells and tastes are able to upload -- life is completed! xD Thanks! Taken with point and shoot camera!
DeleteOh wow... your cheese photo is killing me, craving for it so much now huhu
ReplyDeleteCheese is my favourite!!! Go Tesco / Giant / NTUC buy hahahah~!
DeleteOh I have heard about this place and I seriously need to head on over when I am in SG next. So many rave reviews too.
ReplyDeleteYeap, they got many influencers to market before I think! It's not bad to try! :D
DeleteCheese and ice-cream!? Not sure if we have this in KL yet. Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteWaffle? Waffles do serve cheese & ice cream in cafes if I am not wrong :D KL should have something similar I think :D (no car often lost my way in KL).. thanks! :)
DeleteIt looks really good, especially the presentation. If convert to my lowly Ringgit then RM 60!!
ReplyDeleteHAHA! The lowly Ringgit is mine too! Low until I let them rot in drawer until I go back malaysia once a year -.- Thanks! yeah, singapore cafes always have nice plating!
DeleteLooks at that cheesy goodness! Save this for future Singapore trip!
ReplyDeleteDo visit them if you have extra cash to spare :D It's ok to try once a while :)
DeleteWhat an interesting way to have your cheese. Hope my camera will be ready when I am there.
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's kind of fun :D I suggest to turn on continuous shooting & set everything to auto :/
DeleteOMG the cheese is way too cheesey!! Feel like a guilty meal to me! The toast is so thick and looks delicious too =D
ReplyDeletewowwww cheese scrapped down on the toast :P :P more cheese pls ...
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...this is too cheesy..but I'm loving it!
ReplyDeleteVery artistic. I think as a customer, you are not only paying for the food and servie per se - you will also pay for their creativity and their undeniably talent in food presentation. Kudos!
ReplyDeleteOH GOSH! Im drooling over the amount of cheese. The dish is also very well presented :D
ReplyDeleteMake me hungry now!!! I love cheese!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! That melting cheese is food porn!!! I feel sad that it is not as nice tasting as it looks but I Guess I might still wana try it since it is in town
